Power

Matthew 27:50-53
"And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.
At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split. The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people."

Matthew 28:2 & 5-6
"There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it...
The angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.'"

What astonishing physical demonstrations of God's mighty MIGHTY power!!!! AMAZING! Astounding!!! It's overwhelming!

It makes me want to SHOUT ~

"Hallelujah!! Thank you, Jesus! Lord, You're worthy of all the honor and all the glory and all the praise!!!"

But here is the crazy thing, the thing that is almost too much to wrap my mind around, the thing that leaves me dumb-founded ~

Ephesians 1:18-21
"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."

WHAT?! Did that say what I thought it did?

YES! That same miraculous, astonishing, amazing, astounding, overwhelming, earth-shaking, rock-splitting power that God demonstrated in those moments is the same power that lives in us who believe in Him!

And THEN check out this ~

1 Corinthians 6:14
By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.

Wow...there's nothing more to say! I'm once again left speechless.

Check out "How Did They Miss It?"
